Maybe you remember Evergreen Airways from the past, if so then you probably also know when their name changed to EVA. The name EVA comes from the first two letters of Evergreen, and the A from Airways. Having a name too similar to another airline business can cause problems, so they changed their name. EVA flies out of the island country of Taiwan and provides services to Asian and international destinations. Airlines all pretty much experience the same things, so there histories are all pretty much the same. EVA had financial difficulties in the middle years of the 2000s, but they have survived and are profitable, once again.

EVA had a tiring year in 2010, according to many aspects. They had expanded routes and management changes as well as bids for even more partnerships. In order to increase the number of destinations in Canada, the company completed several inroads via a new service route to Toronto. Then later in the year they added a connecting flight from Taipei to Tokyo Japan. In general, the year was very good because the company was able to show development in their annual profits. There will be new development competences likely in the in-between. This is because EVA put in their application with the Star Alliance of connected airlines. Following approval of the application, EVA will have even greater things taking place.

Just a decade ago, EVA started making massive strides forward to expand their international presence. Growing in the marketplace is only possible if you have the equipment and manpower necessary to maintain expectations. One of their most expensive but thoughtful decisions was ordering long-range heavy aircraft from Boeing called 777-300ERs. Their expansion also included Boeing 777 variants which was another sizable investment. EVA was looking to provide destinations to the US and Europe; hence the long range aircraft. Another type of aircraft that EVA ordered were the Airbus A330-200 airliners for Asian connection points. {}

Even though, they began to offer stocks in 2001, EVA is mainly a privately owned business. The Stock Exchange of Taiwan lists EVA. Then again, a high number of the holdings persist to be owned privately. Following 9/11, there have been influential ramifications all over the airline industry. Those that were touched were not limited to the air carriers that originated in the US due to the affect placed on US flight operations. In 2002, consequently EVA counteracted the greatest way they could and they were fortunate not to have to lose their business like many others of the time. EVA Air has rolled with all the punches that a difficult global economy presents to any airline. What EVA has been through in their short history, is typical of companies in the airline industry. EVA has done a very good job in keeping alive their desire to capture the domestic air traffic market in Taiwan. Passenger jets are needed for long haul international travel, and EVA has placed orders for expansion. The later years during the 2000s have seen a return to profitable fiscal quarters including receiving honors for service. This is all quite impressive, we think, because this is still a privately owned international airline. When the public is able to share in the backing, it makes it less impressive.
